WEDDING // Anderson Wedding

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know this story, but a little over 2 years ago, I was out to an overdue dinner at Cheesecake Factory with Mila. I got a frantic call from Daniel letting me know that one of my best friends, Jamie, suffered a brain aneurysm and was in the hospital. I went straight there and met John, her husband, her mom and brother, and a whole waiting room full of close friends. She didn’t make it.

She was a fantastic photographer, and I was blessed to see her grow from a high school English teacher who did photoshoots on the side, to a world-renowned photographer. I sat on the couch with her when she created her Facebook page and at the time she died it had over 33 thousand followers. I helped her pick out books so she could grow in her craft. We challenged each other and made each other better – although I’m pretty sure she will forever be a better photographer than I will ever be! She shot a session just for fun when Daniel and I were dating, she shot our engagements, a boudoir session, our wedding, and I’m sure what would have been a lifetime of our photos. I shot two of her maternity announcements, as well as the birth of her youngest baby girl, Aubree – still my most meaningful shoot.  We would talk almost everyday back and forth on Facebook messenger about everything – life, photography, kids, food, etc. She helped me through some of the very hardest times in my life and welcomed me into her home at 2am with fresh baked cookies just because she knew I needed to talk. Somehow she was everyone’s best friend, the most talented photographer, the most loving wife, caring mother, and my heart still aches because the world lost her. But I find peace in knowing she’s with Jesus.

But. (This is a beautiful but.) Fast forward a couple of years. Through what I’m sure was a good deal of prayer and healing, John found this amazing woman named Natalie, who has a cute little son named Griffin and they decided to spend forever together. Upon meeting her, I found her to be the most beautiful, wholesome, funny, kind-hearted, person I could have ever imagined John with. While of course she will never replace Jamie, Natalie is exactly the right person John needs, and I fully believe God has his hand on their new family. Sweet Griffin fits right in with the kiddos – they’re also both blonde! I mean it just doesn’t get anymore perfect.

Natalie is an interior designer, so of course everything was absolutely beautiful. I was also able to capture some images of their beautiful home. Their little backyard wedding was just the sweetest thing and had everyone swooning.
